Hi, I'm Joe.
I've always enjoyed figuring out how to build things that solve a problem, make life a little easier, or simply become something people enjoy using every day.
Over the years I've built everything from furniture and market displays to serving boards, shelves, home décor, laser-etched gifts, and one-off custom projects. Every project teaches me something new, and that's part of what keeps woodworking interesting.
BareBasics Woodworking isn't a production shop. I build in small batches and work on projects one at a time, focusing on quality instead of quantity. If it's a project that's a good fit, I'd love to talk through the idea with you.
I like projects that are:
Sometimes that means a cutting board.
Sometimes it's a market display.
Sometimes it's a custom shelf designed for one specific space.
Sometimes it's a laser-etched gift made for a single person.
This gallery is a portfolio, not a catalog. Most of the photos show projects I’ve completed over the years, including personal gifts, one-time custom pieces, and items made to try a new technique. Some designs may be available to make again, but many—especially highly personalized pieces—are shown only as examples of my work.
Have an idea of your own? Feel free to ask. I can’t accept every custom project, but I’m always happy to take a look and let you know whether it fits my shop, tools, and schedule. Please don’t assume that every item shown in the gallery is available for purchase or reproduction.
